Water Wars

September 29, 2010

“Wars will be fought over water” said Dallas city manager, Mary Suhm at an early morning breakfast meeting sponsored by city councilman Dave Neumann on August 7th at the Trinity Audubon Center in South Dallas. The quarterly meeting held for District 3 leaders had Ms. Suhm as a special guest giving attendees a preview of the city budget. When discussing different fees for infrastructure, Ms. Suhm stressed the importance of water in the future for North Texas and Dallas in particular.

We could not agree more. So now, in Pennsylvania a water war has been going on since Spring between Cabot Oil and the State of Pennsylvania. While drilling for natural gas, Cabot contaminated residents water supplies and now the state environmental agency is telling the company that they must build a new $10 million dollar water line to the residents.
