Joe Pool Lake = Gasland Lake

December 1, 2010

This is Joe Pool Lake in Southwestern Dallas County. See the large black shapes we have drawn on the right hand side? Those are proposed drill sites. The top one is application Z090-226 that is waiting on approval in Dallas City Hall. The lower shape highlights proposed drill sites near the entrance to the park/lake. So while you camp, swim, and boat, you can get some gas too. Methane, Formaldehyde, Benzene, and many more contaminants. Z090-226 comes before the city planning commission in February, 2011. Everything else you see is CURRENT DRILLING GOING ON THE SHORES OF JOE POOL LAKE.

What do you think will eventually happen to the quality of Joe Pool Lake water? Since the City of Dallas wants to make this a source of water for us by 2014, what guarantees will we have to the purity of that water. Would you care to swim or ski in it next summer? Remember, this is just current drilling. Thoughts?

It’s been drilled for awhile. The damage is well underway. Oh, and top right where it says, “Duncanville,” that’s really Grand Prairie. One thing about these Railroad Commission Maps is that they have roads and cities mismarked quite often. Surveys show road names that were changed 10-20 years ago. All of this makes it really difficult for citizens to know precisely what’s going on and what they are seeing. Very convenient for the industry. Their playground is very well protected by all the confusion. It takes due diligence and a lot of study to figure it all out.
