We endorse Scott Griggs!

April 21, 2011

Once in a blue moon, someone comes along and you know they are the right one for the job. Scott Griggs is that person. Scott has always been the one who said that the city of Dallas needed to slow down and reevaluate their processes and gain more knowledge about gas drilling before granting any application.

Dave Neumann just stood around and blew smoke up our behinds and tap danced until he wore his shoes out. Dave had since 2008 to get on the don’t drill in Dallas bus but he sat there silent. We asked, we pleaded, he ignored. Only when he say that this was going to be an election problem for him, did he make some sort of weak comment about studying the issue. Angela Hunt gave him more than enough time to do something and he didn’t. So she made the heroic effort to ask the city council to establish a task force to study gas drilling. As of yesterday, that is now happening.

Dave decided he needed to get on Angela’s bus real quick but as far as we’re concerned, he missed the bus.

Scott has the integrity and the know how to make things better for District 3. Is it easy? No! Will everyone always be happy? No. His approach is not a ‘show horse’ but instead a ‘work horse’. We don’t need him to slap our back and try to talk himself to death when asked a simple question.  We don’t need him to pretend he didn’t know that a HUD housing development was about to be re upped for 40 years without public input,or that gas drilling was a ‘sweet deal’ for everyone.  We should not have to talk to him for weeks to make sure that money allocated for refurbishment of a WPA park pergola should remain for that project instead of being moved elsewhere.

Dave should have known better, he just didn’t do better.

We now know better and we deserve better. Scott Griggs is the one for District 3 city council.

Yes, I agree. Scott is the man. Speaking of HUD housing, more is on the horizon when money becomes available, and that is going to require careful oversight-as proposed housing is on contaminated land.
Just what I hear…will keep watching.
