Behind closed doors: Dallas city council trying to feather their nests
Dallas City Hall ethics have been a rather sticky wicket for some. Lately, the news has been about how the council NEARLY passed a rule allowing contributions to flow like well, dare we say, contaminated water into the city council members wallets. If this were allowed, then money from anyone wanting anything would be flowing based on what was needed by whom. Which takes us directly to the gas industry and their sphere of influence around the country and most likely down at 1500 Marilla Street.
Please listen to city council member Angela Hunt grill Dallas city attorney Tom Perkins about what he knew, when he knew it, and who is responsible for trying to change the rules as it were, so that money could flood the pocketbooks of a few and the rest of us get…well you know what we get.
Take note of the great pains, stuttering and stammering attorney Perkins to which he has trying his best to protect the city council members who have been trying to get as much money as they can. We could come up with some names but we will gladly wait for someone to file a freedom of information paper to find out. After all, the request apparently was NOT done in an executive session, which means, we will find out.
