That’s right, after installing 60 gas wells in the city of Grand Prairie, the city’s coffers have earned a total of $132,000 in one year. This is from Chesapeake alone. Keep in mind, Dallas is further away from the Barnett Shale than Grand Prairie. IF Dallas were to roll over and allow drilling, we will go out on a limb and estimate the Dallas revenues to hover around $65,000 for one year. Is it worth it?

So as the Dallas gas drilling task force tours the Barnett Shale in two weeks, they need to keep in mind how with all of this industrial build outs, chemical emitting, road destroying, polluting infrastructure, the payback does not only come in dollars but other sources as well.
