Jim Moroney’s big and dirty ‘elephant’

November 5, 2011

Jim Moroney’s Dallas News is soooo concerned about North Texas having dirtier air than Houston, that they get all upset and nervous in their recent editorial. To read it, CLICK HERE. This ‘oh yeah, but what about my big brother Houston” type of attitude is not welcome here.

Jim Moroney’s Dallas News wants to show concern about the dirty air in the DFW area without one mention of what could be the cause. Just like an elephant in the living room, it’s right in front of your face, or shall we say it’s right in the middle of our back yards. The 18,000 plus gas pad sites, compressors,  that come with the gas industry in the Barnett Shale alone contribute to our dirty air. Not to mention the concrete plants, and the coal plants in North Texas alone.

The gas industry’s emissions that go undetected and unregulated on a 24/7 basis along with airports, cars, and other industry contribute to the ozone.  Failure to mention any of these contributing factors in an editorial about dirty air is disingenuous on Jim Moroney’s behalf and a waste of paper.

Jim would have done everyone a favor if he had just published the link to Downwinders at Risk. At the forefront of  fighting Texas’ dirty air causes, they have all you need to know about the cause and solutions to our air problems. To see what solid information is all about: CLICK HERE FOR DOWNWINDERS AT RISK

You can also read about Downwinders in The Dallas News, HERE

When it comes to identifying key components to what causes our dirty air, Jim Moroney the publisher of  The Dallas News,  failed to identify why this big and dirty elephant leaves us choking.

Housing Development is something I am very interested in. I am surprised you didn’t comment on the lack of investment from the government.
