It seems as though The Mayor and City Council of Dallas do not want to be bothered by any input from the citizens they supposedly represent. Unfortunately, now that times are tough and city budget is seeing red, it has become all about the money. The City Manager of Dallas has made several questionable unilateral decisions in the past, for which she remains unaccountable. It was very disturbing to see a few city council representatives literally roast anyone who questioned Mary Suhm’s actions concerning her approval of gas well leases and drilling sites a few weeks ago. Why were they so quick to jump to her defense and why were they allowed to stop the questioning?

Are the concerned citizens of Dallas going to be forced by a few officials to sit idly by and wait for the next city elections to do anything about how City Hall is functioning?

One thing we’ve noted is a lot of this activity seems to always occur at the BORDERS of our North TX cities. That makes for a LOT of confusion. With one city doing the “permitting” and another city getting the ill effects (and not knowing anything about it)…it brings a whole new meaning to “Regional Collaboration.” The Shale Gas Industry runs “rough shod” through our living and breathing spaces and everyone is left to pick up the environmental disaster that will be around FOREVER!
